Shipping is a key infrastructure for our modern life, 90% of global trade is carried on ships. Unfortunately, the current state of maritime industry does not live up to its history and importance. Our solutions will free millions of people in maritime industry from daily drudgery of meaningless work and make shipping more sustainable.
MagicPort was founded in 2021 in Singapore, our team is distributed across Singapore, Istanbul, Baku and London. We have raised pre-seed funding from maritime industry leaders and venture capital firms and launched our first suite of products.

About the Role
At MagicPort, we aim to build and grow a portfolio of products to quickly. That’s where you come in. We have strong focus on engineering excellence, we believe in real partnership between product leads and engineers to build great products. You will be paired with a visionary product lead to work in a small team and a business line with exciting products. You will also support other products and overall MagicPort tech infrastructure where needed.
What you will do:
· Work with a product lead, CTO and Engineering Lead to build software solutions
· Lead the entire web development life cycle right from the concept stage to delivery
· Write (developing) a well-documented software
· Perform troubleshooting of operational and integration issues
· Ensure code is robust and efficient
· Troubleshoot and fix code that has bugs in it
· Write adequate documentation
What you will need:
Job qualifications and skill sets:
· 5+ years of excellent knowledge of PHP and Laravel, a deep understanding of OOP
· MySQL/MariaDB: Maintenance, optimization, and knowledge of complex queries
· Experience with: Git, PHPUnit, Redis, Linux, JavaScript/jQuery
· GCP, AWS, Stripe, CI/CD tools, OpenAI, RabbitMQ/Kafka (not mandatory but desirable)
· React, Next knowledge (not mandatory but desirable)
· Ruby, Python knowledge (not mandatory but desirable)
· Jira and Confluence (not mandatory but desirable)
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to interpret and understand customer needs and deliver results
· A proactive approach and the ability to be self-managing and innovative
· English (ability to understand documentations and guidelines)
