Originally known as Zhejiang Shipyard, Zhejiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. was founded in 1969. By 1989, it had become a pivotal component of the newly established Ningbo Ship Industry Group Company. The shipyard gained recognition as a critical enterprise within Ningbo by 1995, secured a position among Ningbo's Top 100 Enterprises by 2000, and in the same year, it was honored with the ISO9002 certificate by the China Classification Society Quality Assurance Ltd. The company underwent a significant rebranding in February 2003, thanks to the investments from Zhejiang Evergreen Group Co., Ltd. and Linhai Evergreen Crafts Co., Ltd., with its registered capital reaching RMB 66.6 million.
Facilities and CapabilitiesOver more than three decades, the Zhejiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has evolved into a substantial and versatile entity, skilled in constructing a variety of steel vessels up to 75,000 DWT, as well as producing mechanical and electrical machinery for both marine and terrestrial large-scale steel structures. The company sprawls over 1,200,000 square meters and boasts 812 sets of diverse equipment. Among its facilities are a 230m by 34m construction berth with the capability of assembling ships up to 75,000 DWT, helped by four gantry cranes with 80-ton capacities; a second construction berth measuring 250m by 20m, designed for building two vessels up to 6,000 DWT concurrently, equipped with gantry cranes of 30t, 40t, and 60t; in addition to two fitting-out wharves and a pair of floating docks. The shipyard is also advanced in its design techniques, employing a computer center for ship design and making extensive use of autoCAD.
Recent AchievementsThe repertoire of Zhejiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in recent times includes the successful completion and delivery of a diverse array of vessels and infrastructure. Notable projects include 2,200T coastal cargo ships, 2,000T product oil tankers, and 5,100DWT multi-purpose containers, in addition to a 405TEU multi-purpose container ship for a German client and 2000 m3 LPG carriers for a Hong Kong client. The company has also been instrumental in constructing the steel approach bridge for the 200,000T quay at Beilun Port (NINGBO), along with 25,000DWT multi-purpose containers for Singapore, a 5000m3 LPG carrier for Britain, a 4500DWT Bitumen Tanker for Switzerland and another for France. Further accomplishments include two 51,000DWT Bulk Carriers for Greece, GPA670 Platform Supply Vessels for France, two 53,500DWT Bulk Carriers for Turkey and one for France, as well as two 1800TEU Container Vessels for Germany currently in construction.
