Founded in July 2004 and nestling in the bustling Shipu port, Zhejiang Donghong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd boasts a robust initial capital investment of 110 million. This entity emerged from the amalgamation of two precedents, the Xiangshan Pudong Shipyard and Xiangshan Qihang Shipyard, both of which were instantiated in the 1990s. Bringing forth a legacy of 15 years in both the construction and repair of maritime vessels, the company has experienced significant growth. In response to the burgeoning shipping market, an ambitious investment of 450 million RMB was allocated in two strategic stages.

The shipyard spreads over an impressive expanse exceeding 450,000 square meters, complemented by a shoreline that stretches for over 625 meters along a deepwater frontier of 10 meters. The facilities boast a 50,000 metric ton dry dock currently under construction, two fully operational slipways also capable of accommodating vessels up to 50,000 metric tons, and an array of 10 slipways designed for ships ranging between 20,000 and 80,000 metric tons. Two outfitting quays, each supporting 50,000 metric tons, along with a daily steel plate cutting capacity of 200 tons, underscore the shipyard's formidable annual shipbuilding prowess of over 400,000 metric tons.

The premises feature a vast office building spanning 10,000 square meters, equipped with an extensive suite of office amenities. Additionally, the shipyard encompasses a 10,000 square meter material store, a material yard of 30,000 square meters, a 25,000 square meter block shop, 60,000 square meters allocated for block space, and a 100,000 square meter block yard. The facility is further augmented by a 5,000 square meter paint workshop, a 3,500 square meter plasma numerically controlled cutting workshop, and dedicated workshops for cold working, metal processing, and pipe processing, each spanning 10,000 square meters, 4,000 square meters, and 10,000 square meters, respectively. Also included are a 2,000 square meter machinery workshop, alongside workshops for electrical fittings and woodworking, each measuring 1,000 square meters. The shipyard is outfitted with a diverse array of machinery including lathes, planers, drillers, millers, and a plethora of specialized equipment. An ample power supply is ensured by 4,000kw distribution substations and power stations, supported by a fleet of tower cranes, truck cranes, gantry cranes, and platform lorries of various capacities.
