Established in the fall of 2005 and commencing operations in the summer of 2007, Jinhai Heavy Industry Co. Ltd (JHI) has evolved into a formidable modern shipbuilding facility, backed by HNA Group. As a beacon of industrial innovation in Zhejiang Province, JHI is recognized both as a key enterprise within the region and a high-tech powerhouse, boasting a substantial registered capital of 3.81 billion RMB and an impressive asset total reaching 30 billion RMB. In 2009, JHI distinguished itself as the sole company in Zhoushan with an annual revenue surpassing 10 billion RMB, a feat it consistently maintained over the next five years. Jinhai Heavy Industry’s sprawling complex covers over 5 million square meters, with workshop areas exceeding 700,000 square meters. Strategically located alongside a 13,000-meter stretch of coastline, the shipyard features an outfitting wharf extending more than 3,800 meters and houses eight docks with a combined capacity of 2.08 million tons. The largest of these docks can accommodate up to half a million tons, ranking it among the most capable in both China and Asia. JHI’s infrastructure includes two 800-ton gantry cranes, a fleet of 550-ton, 450-ton, and 300-ton gantry cranes, and an assortment of more than forty 25-ton to 150-ton gantry cranes. This is complemented by cutting-edge shipbuilding and repair equipment, including six lines for handling raw steel, two planar sectional flow lines, and a variety of imported plasma cutting machinery, totaling approximately 875 main production units.

With an ability to process over 0.9 million tons of steel plate annually and an overall shipbuilding capacity of 6 million tons each year, JHI has demonstrated proficiency in constructing a wide array of both large and medium-sized maritime vessels. This range includes, but is not limited to, container ships, LNG and LPG carriers, roll-on/roll-off ships, floating production storage and offloading units, tankers for products and crude oil, bulk carriers, passenger ships, and specialized vessels. Among its flagship offerings are various DWT bulk carriers ranging from 64,000 DWT to 82,000 DWT, massive crude oil tankers up to 320,000 DWT, sophisticated container ships, and formidable jack-up platforms, illustrating JHI’s versatility and capacity in serving the global maritime industry.
