About

The Genesis of Gisan Shipyard

The birth and expansion of Gisan Shipyard are intrinsically linked to the initial stages of the Turkish Shipbuilding Industry's development. In 1960, a modest workshop was established by Mehmet OYAR(Çanak) on the banks of the Golden Horn. This facility specialized in small-scale ship repair operations, conducted by Mehmet and his team. By 1982, all operations had been relocated to Tuzla to accommodate growth and expansion.

Capabilities of Gisan Shipyard

Gisan Shipyard boasts facilities that allow for the construction of a wide range of vessels. Among these are commercial cargo ships, dry bulk carriers, chemical and product tankers with a capacity of up to 26,000 DWT, as well as dredgers, tug boats, and ro-ro passenger vessels. Additionally, the shipyard features a floating dock designed to undertake repairs on vessels of any type, accommodating ships with a lightship capacity of up to 8,000 tons.

Infrastructure and Capacity

Strategically located in Tuzla, the shipyard spans an impressive area, with 22,000 m² dedicated to covered operations. It prides itself on its steel processing capabilities, which can reach an annual throughput of 15,000 tons. This extensive facility enables Gisan Shipyard to offer an array of services, cementing its position within the industry.
