About

Origins and Transition of DQS

On the 20th of February, 2006, the Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Ltd. Company (DQS) came into being as part of the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Following the Vietnamese government's directive to restructure the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, DQS was handed over to the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group on the 1st of July, 2010, for its oversight and operational development.

Development and Achievements

Since its inception, DQS has prioritized the establishment of a robust management framework and the cultivation of a highly skilled, experienced, and professional workforce. This was achieved through comprehensive training initiatives, including bespoke self-training programs for its staff, enabling them to adeptly handle the construction of new vessels up to 300,000 dwt and the repair of various floating vessels such as rigs, oil storage tankers, barges, and tugs. The quality of work executed by DQS has garnered acclaim from both shipowners and Classification Societies. Additionally, the company has made significant efforts to refine its management practices, boost production efficiency, foster partnerships, and pursue market growth.

Future Aspirations and Commitment

DQS is confident that with the guidance and unwavering support of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, the company will continually commit to its mission and tackle any arising obstacles. It is DQS's firm belief that through this dedication and resolve, it will ascend to become a frontrunner in the shipbuilding sector across the Southeast Asian region.
